The Secret Sauce: Channel State Information (CSI)
Most "WiFi Sensing" attempts fail because they rely on RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). RSSI is a crude measurement - like trying to hear a whisper in a nightclub. It tells you the signal is "strong" or "weak," but nothing else. It fluctuates wildly with interference and offers no granular detail.
TrustGate™ operates at the CSI Layer. In modern WiFi (MIMO - Multiple Input Multiple Output), a single signal is actually composed of dozens of sub-carriers (small data streams) sent at different frequencies. TrustGate™ accesses the raw complex data of each sub-carrier.
Decoding the Signal
By analyzing the CSI, we extract three critical dimensions of data:
- Amplitude: How much signal was absorbed? This correlates to mass and obstruction.
- Phase: How much was the signal delayed? This provides precise distance and location data.
- Doppler Shift: How fast is the reflection moving? This allows us to separate static objects (furniture) from moving targets (people).
Why This Cannot Be Copied
Processing CSI data requires manipulating the WiFi chip's firmware kernel. It requires handling complex matrices of IQ Data (In-phase and Quadrature components) at millisecond latency. A generalist software shop cannot replicate this because it requires expertise in Radio Frequency Engineering, Signal Processing Physics and Embedded Firmware, not just Python or JavaScript.
